The supernatural series is one of the best series of all time that managed to stay running for almost 12 years and their fans are still asking for more of it! It is really rare to find a series that last this long and people are still excited to see more of it! 1) Supernatural was originally going to be called Unnatural. In the first written draft, the series was called Unnatural but after a while and when series was going to be filmed the series team decided to change it into supernatural.
2) The Winchester family name was originally intended to be Harrison to pay tribute to legendary actor Harrison Ford. Due to conflicts with a living person with the same name, Winchester was adapted thanks to the Winchester Mystery House in California, which has long been admired by series creator Eric Kripke.
3) The original concept for the show had a reporter going to investigate the urban legends and writing about them in his column. Which had absolutely nothing to do with the Winchester Brothers.
4) Jensen Ackles originally auditioned to play Sam Winchester. He almost won the role until Jared Padalecki walked in and swept it out from under his feet. The producers asked Jensen if he would like to play Dean, and he said yes. And before Jared Padalecki played Sam, he had just finished playing a character in the “Gilmore Girls” named Dean.

5) Jim Beaver’s character (Bobby Singer) was only supposed to make a one-time appearance. The character became so popular among fans that he has since appeared in over 50 episodes, including some scenes after he was already dead.
6) Dean has killed the most main antagonists on the show. Including Azazel, Dick Roman, Eve, and Ruby.
7) The license plate on the Impala is KAZ2Y5. Which is a subtle reference to the Winchester’s home state Kansas and the year 2005 when the Supernatural premiered.
8) Jared Padalecki married his co-actor Genevieve (Ruby). They met on set and got married. They just had their second child.
9) Dean has entered the most number of realms. Including Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and Avalon (The homeland of the fairies)
10) The Latin inscription on the barrel of the Colt says ‘non timebo mala’. Which translates to ‘I will fear no evil’.
11) Season 1 had a budget of just $20,000. This includes actor wages and the special effects budget.
12) Sam always wins at Rock, Paper, Scissors against his brother. Dean always chooses Scissors.
13) For a short period, you could call Dean’s phone. If you called 866-907-3235, you’d hear Jensen Ackles reading the message “This is Dean Winchester, if this is an emergency, please leave a message. If you are calling about 11-2-83, page me with your coordinates.” 11/2/83 is the date of Mary Winchester’s death. They have changed the number and message since then. If you call 866-907-3235 now, you will hear “Dad? We really need to hear from you. Leave me a message, text me, check your jwinchester1246 email(a working email address). Anything. We have new info. “
14) Sam and Dean were originally supposed to find their dad on the very first episode burning dead on the ceiling, but this was later changed to Sam’s girlfriend.
15) Dean Winchester was meant to be covered in tattoos but since the series started with a low budget they couldn’t afford it.
